1. Create your own set of pics, make it 3 rows of 4 pictures, 40×40 in size each, then save it as transparent GIF, like this one below.

Ops, sorry if you don’t like girls. Anyway, the layout may be different with different CSS, the easiest way to do this is capture your Plurk screen, paste it on image editing software, put your 40×40 pics on top of the existing ones, crop it like the above example, and save. There you have your custom pics, then upload it somewhere like www.tinypic.com.

2. Add these codes into your customization:

.friend_holder#friend_holder { background: url(your-pic-url) no-repeat 1px 6px; }
.friend_holder#friend_holder img { opacity:0.0; filter:alpha(opacity=0); }

And that’s all. :D

The first line is to put your pic as background. You may need to adjust the 1px 6px according to your layout; 1px is the X coordinate, 6px is the Y coordinate.
The second line is to get rid of the real Friends’ pic. You can still see them when you mouse-over the box.

For Fans, the code is just slightly different:

.friend_holder#fan_holder { background: url(your-pic-url) no-repeat 1px 6px; }
.friend_holder#fan_holder img { opacity:0.0; filter:alpha(opacity=0); }

I haven’t been making any new themes, I’m still annoyed with constant changes Plurk made and the latest would be scrambling filenames and suddenly blow pictures up. As so, some filenames may be obsolete in my CSS Kit… whatever, I won’t update anymore of it.

Anyway, no post for total rant so I’d give you something that probably a lot of people already know, about “how to use people’s theme without knowing the install link”.

When you stumbled on someone’s plurk and you love its theme, just save the whole page to your harddrive, then look for GetCustomCss.css. Just paste everything in it on your plurk customization form, and voila, you get the theme.

I fixed One Piece: All Blue for the latest change, btw.

As for the tags, just save your plurk and look in the timeline_all.css everything that starts with .cmp. (or just view my updated Plurk CSS Kit)

Rant: these changes have made me losing my mood to create any more theme if later plurk changed something in it and I have to edit it and post new links all over again…

Updated: 30 October 2008, Plurk changed the tag for some layout images, easier to customize now, I’ve list them in the UPDATED section but I’m not in the mood for updating anything else within.

Metal Gear Solid

I have never been a fan to Metal Gear Solid series actually, because college friends of mine kept talking about it (Metal Gear Solid) all the freakin’ time I got so sick I didn’t want to play the game despite of how great it really was. I only played the Sons of Liberty, was supposed to play Snake Eater but my PS2 controller was broken.
Recently a friend of mine got hooked up so bad to Metal Gear Solid series, and I (without playing the game) was kinda attached the the character of Solid Snake. I will finish Snake Eater when I got myself a new PS2 controller, and hopefully got a chance to play Guns of the Patriot later on.

The four pictures in the dashboard represent each episodes of Solid Snake. Well, the third one isn’t Solid Snake, but it’s the third MGS game so there.

Classic Super Mario Bros

When I was a kid, my father bought me the Nintendo Entertainment System in Tulungagung (a town about 40 km from mine) for Rp. 197.500 in … I don’t know, probably somewhere around 1989… and the day after I was finally able to play my own NES. And Super Mario Bros was my first cartridge. I wish I don’t have those awkward feeling when I want to say this, but I love you Dad.

I hope this theme can make anyone from that era to fly back and enjoy the memory of those good ol’ days.
